Business driver, how does it work?
Once your company has joined the Kootenay Carshare Co-op and registered your employees as drivers, they can book the vehicles they need online for when they need them. Each month your company will receive an itemized invoice for each of your employees trips that details the hours booked and kilometers traveled. Your bookkeeper will love it!
REFUNDABLE MEMBERSHIP SHARE
Your company must purchase a membership share to join the cooperative and access the vehicles. This is a one-time cost that is reimbursed if your company leaves the Community Company Car program after at least six months of membership. The number of registered drivers your company has will determine the membership share amount. This share also gives your business a vote and a voice in decisions that will affect the future of the Carshare.
What’s included?
- GAS: gas is included in the km rates. Simply pay at the pump and be reimbursed on your invoice for each drop of gas you put in the tank.
- INSURANCE: Kootenay Carshare Co-op has a fleet plan from ICBC that has you and your employees covered when they use vehicles for work or anything else. We currently carry $2 million in public liability insurance on all of the vehicles which can be increased if requested.
- MAINTENANCE: we take care of our fleet with monthly safety inspections and routine mechanic servicing.
- CLEANING: we wash and vacuum the vehicles monthly. If your trip leaves the vehicle significantly messier than you found it, you can clean the vehicle and we will reimburse you for any cleaning costs.
Costs
REGISTRATION AND ORIENTATION FEES
There is a $25.00 registration fee for each registered driver. Each registered driver must also attend an orientation session which costs $25.00 per session. To save money, multiple registered drivers can attend a group orientation session together.
