Geran Capewell
Kaslo Coordinator
For much of Geran’s working life he worked in the performing arts, first as a production stage manager, touring the world with everything from rock and roll to ballet.
In 1986 Geran managed the largest performance facility at Vancouver’s Expo 86. After Expo he formed his own production company providing production services for concerts, festivals, opening ceremonies, theatre productions and corporate galas.
In 1995 Geran began producing live productions. He co wrote and produced Reflections of Canada a Symphony of Sound and Light which was the featured summer evening show on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for five years. He also produced, among other productions, the opening and closing for the Canada Games in Kamloops, opening of the Special Olympics, a Grey Cup halftime show and the New York production of Porgy and Bess.
In 2006 Geran retired his production company and created eMETA Learning Solutions, one of the first online learning management systems exclusively for the management of professional development, continuing education, and training programs, which is still in operation today.
Geran is now 75 years old and has recently decided to step back from eMETA and devote more of his time to his real passion, storytelling, by creating a storytelling website for storytellers: https://www.bardsplace.com
Geran joined the Kootenay Carshare Cooperative as the Kaslo Branch Coordinator in February of 2025.
